Introduction
Welcome!
This self-learning course deals with how to conceptualize and describe the processes of change which conflict management projects aim to support. That is what is meant by the title of the self-study course: Monitoring Effects - "movie".
For pedagogical reason we have chosen a rather simple example from the grass root level. This should be helpful in order to understand the basic idea of this approach in a first step. In a second step this can be more easily transferred into practice and to a more complex context and on different social levels – also using other methods and tool such as “reflecting on peace practice”.
We recommend you to read the introductory literature to this course first so you have a good overview of the topic. You will need about one hour for that, and perhaps it is best to print it out and read it on paper. After that you will need about 45 minutes to go through the self-learning course step-by-step. The course is divided into three main sections:
- Main Terms
- Thinking in Terms of Change
- Completing the Cycle
If you want to proceed section-by-section, you will find an introductory text linked in at the beginning of each section, which you can download and read before or after each phase.
Have fun!
