Training for Peace

We offer a wide range of two- to five-day Training Courses, in English and in German, which cover both basic and specialised topics within the field of conflict transformation. They

• qualify participants to take up professional roles in the fields of conflict transformation, civil conflict management, the Civil Peace Service and crisis prevention;

• offer know-how direct from a real deploying organisation and an up-to-date, practice-oriented curriculum;

• cover a wide range of topics and offer a variety of methodical approaches;

• link the participants’ learning processes with their professional context and their background of experience.

Target Group

The Training Courses aim at people with relevant experience, such as (prospective) experts in Civil Peace Service, development aid, humanitarian aid and related areas. In each of our trainings' descriptions you can find details about the target group. Please make sure your chosen training fits your needs and experience!

We host three series of training courses each year – two in English and one in German. Each series comprises twelve specialist courses, which can all be booked individually. If you are interested in a more comprehensive training program covering all these specialist issues, please consider applying for one of our Qualification Courses.

All of the training courses take place in or near Bonn, Germany. Booking takes place via our website, which also provides further information about course contents, course aims, our trainers and the training locations. If you book at least six weeks before the start date, you are entitled to an early bird discount.

The Academy works with trainers who have considerable practical experience in crisis regions and theoretical expertise in the field of conflict transformation, in addition to highly developed educational skills. You can read their trainer profiles on our website.

Additional Information for non-EU Applicants

Due to visa regulations we cannot accept any applications for training courses less than 6 weeks before the start of a course or training session. For the same reason we cannot process any applications for courses less than 3 days duration.
