Jutta Bangel
Basic Information
Profile:
Jutta Bangel studied Communications and Latin American Science in Berlin and Spain. She is currently working as a journalist and trainer on strategic communications, media development and institutional capacity building.
She started her professional career as a reporter at the Berlin Public Broadcasting Service, worked later on as an editor of Germany's first 24-hours broadcasting community radio and for different print media specialized on political affairs and development politics in Latin America.
Her passion for South America and media development brought Jutta Bangel to Brazil. There she passed two years as a media expert providing technical advice to a network of rural community radios of the National Bishop Conference of Brazil (CNBB). Subsequently, she worked with the German Development Service and its Brazilian partner organizations as consultant and trainer in strategic communications. After her return to Germany in 2003 Jutta continued to work on the topics of development communication, media and democratization as freelance trainer and consultant to a variety of governmental and non-governmental organizations such as DED, GTZ, MISEREOR, EED.
Since 2005, Jutta Bangel is also engaged in international election observation with the European Commission and the OSCE. She has observed elections in emerging democracies and post conflict countries of Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Caucasus and the Balkans, acting as Long-Term Observer and as Press Officer.
