Creative Approaches to Conflict Transformation
Thematic Training for peace and conflict work
Thematic Training for peace and conflict work
25 February 2023
Early Bird: When registering before 1 January 2023.
The 4-day thematic training is offered to practitioners of peace and conflict work, those who intend to work in the field, and those interested in the use of creative approaches to conflict transformation.
The training aims at providing a space where participants can broaden their perspectives on conflict and tap into their own creativity, vulnerability, confidence, and power, to develop their capacities for creative modes of conflict transformation.
The training will use different interaction formats (expressive arts and embodiment, circle processes, games and exercises for de-mechanizing self and community, constructive rest, and connection to nature within and without) to open up individual and collective creativity. Throughout the week, participants will be invited to explore, cultivate and practice their individual creative resources and co-create a short session to facilitate for the group. In the early part of the week, we will explore role models and examples, but the primary focus will be cultivating our own creative resources.
Venue: Arbeitnehmer-Zentrum Königswinter (AZK), Johannes-Albers-Allee 3, Königswinter, Germany
Price includes materials, lunch and coffee/tea
Additional Costs: Costs for accommodation, additional meals and travel have to be additionally covered by the participants.
This thematic training is part of our Full-time Course in Peace and Conflict Work. We have a few spots available for external participants.
Please register for this thematic training online via our website by 25 February 2023. We will then contact you for the next steps. Please note that the number of available spaces per training is limited, and registrations are reviewed on a rolling basis. Early registration is highly encouraged.
Visa: Participants from outside the EU will need a visa to enter Germany. We can generally support the visa process with a formal invitation letter from our side. Be advised that it takes a significant amount of time to get the visa processed, so be sure to start the process at the latest 6 weeks before the training start. Please make sure you are eligible and check the specific requirements and usual timeline for processing with your local German embassy. The responsibility for obtaining the visa lies with each of the participants themselves.
If you will need a visa to enter Germany, please send the contact persons (below) a notice through email and attach a scanned copy of your passport - we need this in case we would support you with an invitation letter.
