In the work of peacebuilding and conflict transformation, strategies are designed on the basis of the understanding of the situation. That is why a thorough and accurate conflict analysis is crucial for planning projects. This course introduces participants to the systemic approach of conflict analysis.
On the one hand, participants will obtain a solid foundation for the basic understanding of conflict dynamics and the visualization and synthesis of the most important issues at stake. On the other, they will familiarize themselves with systems thinking in an attempt to grasp the complexity and multi-layered nature of conflict settings. Actors, relationship, interests, needs, connectors and dividers are some of the key words around which the learnings will revolve.
Participants will be able to bring in their own experiences and case studies in order to apply the tools directly. Learning will thus take place in a participatory setting with a diversity of hands-on methodologies.
