Jana Hornberger is a peace and conflict researcher. Currently employed at the Friedensakademie Rheinland-Pfalz, which offers training in crisis prevention and conflict transformation, she also works as a freelance trainer, consultant and teacher. Hornberger studied peace and conflict research at the University of Innsbruck in Austria before completing further training in systemic consulting. In recent years, she has worked and conducted research on civil peace work in various countries, including Mexico, Guatemala and Colombia. Her work focuses on human rights monitoring, dealing with the past and remembrance work as components of post-conflict peacebuilding. Among others, she has led workshops for civil society groups exploring the memory of past events and dealing with this past in the here and now. An additional focus lies in further development of the content, methods and didactics of training and workshop formats for peace work.
