Dr. Kathryn Mansfield

Trainer for Trauma Sensitivity in Peacebuilding

Dr. Mansfield facilitates participatory, embodied learning about trauma sensitivity, resilience, and conflict transformation. For over fifteen years, she has participated in peace and justice education as learner and trainer/educator working with organizations and individuals. Teachers and colleagues in India, the Philippines, Kenya, and the US shaped her learning journey on nonviolent pathways to needed social change.

In 2021, she completed her doctorate in Expressive Arts. Her dissertation was entitled Re-friending the Body: Arts-based, Embodied Learning for Building Resilience. She has worked as the Lead Trainer for the Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resilience program at Eastern Mennonite University’s Center for Justice and Peacebuilding for more than 8 years. She delights in creative collaboration that generates healthy possibilities.
