Dr. Terry Savage
Trainer for Dealing with the Past
A practitioner and researcher passionate about mediation, conflict transformation, victimology, and Dealing with the Past (DwP), Terry Savage divides his work between field deployments, writing, research and teaching / training.
His work in the field has chiefly been in the African Great Lakes region, with civil society in the DRC and as Chief of Human Rights Reporting with the UN mission in Burundi; in southern Africa; in Nepal, as Reparations Policy Advisor with the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Nepal, in the Maghreb and in Mali.
A researcher with the University of Leuven, his current work is focused on restorative justice and victimological approaches to truth recovery after mass violence in northern Iraq.
